The Ibicencan Marcos Torrer, who’s work as an artist and designer are highly regarded on the island and internationally, has donated one of his artwork pieces to be auctioned in aid of a nonprofit organization that works with those affected by the conflict in Ukraine, providing food to communities there.
“Like many of you, I’m tired of being heartbroken by the images coming from Ukraine, so I’ve decided to hold an auction”, stated the artist on his Instagram. Torres confirms to Noudiari that all the proceeds obtained from the auction will be directly donated to World Central Kitchen, an NGO founded by the popular and philanthropic Spanish chef José Andrés.
Torres values and applauds the absolutely “incredible work done directly in the area of conflict” that this organization is carrying out, offering food to the migrants and people who are suffering from Russian oppression inside their borders.
The art piece that’s being auctioned, Holy Marilyn, is very dear to the artist, as he’s only created 5 reproductions of the print and has never been available to purchase before.
The bidding, that will be done directly on the post on Instagram until the 14th of March at 12 o’clock, starts at 500 euros (there are already some bidders that have started with that number)
Whoever wishes to bid, can do it in the comment section of the post.
The highest resulting bid will be announced on Monday, and the person who made it will be contacted and sent the art piece with no delivery cost.
